Sports Council SALSC Award

The award process included making a written statement on our development priorities and achievements over the last year in competition with the other 37 local sports councils We have grown to a current membership of 308 clubs and individuals. On behalf of Alan Still our Chairman and the committee we'd like to thank all our affiliated clubs for your continued support.
Pete Watt International Dodgeball Player

Pete Watt was awarded a £200 Talented Individual Grant. commenting on the award "The value and impact will be immeasureable. I was captain for the Scotland mixed team in the European Dodgeball Championships, where we secured 3rd place and qualification for the 2018 World Cup in New York. Playing as part of an international team is expensive, with all our training taking place monthly in Glasgow, incurring travel costs each time, coupled with the cost of kit and shoes. The sports council financial grant to help support my participation has a huge impact on my participation."
Next Committee Meeting 3rd October

The sports council committee will next meet on the 3rd October from 7-9pm at Meldrum Academy. The draft minutes of the meeting on the 22nd August are on the Minutes and Meetings Section on the web site.
Gemma Cooper Endurance Rider

"Competing at a high level in Endurance Riding has been a childhood dream. The grant support I have received from Abedeenshire Sports Council has made being part of the Scottish Endurance Team possible at the home internationals at Lindum. Thank you!"
Rothienorman Bowling Club Travel Grant

The club received a £100 travel grant to attend the Bowls Scotland national championships at Ayr . The event was held held in Ayr from the 24th-29th July 2017. The ladies team won the District 4's which qualified them to compete in the last 32 of the National Championships. the ladies team lost their first game at the National Championships.
