£200 Talented Individual Grant

published: 21 December, 2016

Isabella McQuaker-Kajiwara commented on the benefit from the £200 grant from the Sports Council. "I would like to thank Aberdeenshire Sports Council for all of their support through this grant, which has enabled me to travel to the Scottish Tetrathlon Championships. This was also my debut pentathlon for the Under 19 age category, so it was great competition experience and I managed to place 2nd overall. Following my success at this competition, I am planning to keep training and racing hard throughout the season. My main two competitions coming up will be the Scottish Secondary Schools Fencing Championships on November 27th, and the British Modern Pentathlon Championships in July, where I hope to medal."

David and Lynda Leslie took part in the European Touch Rugby Championships, which were held in Jersey. Lynda played in the Scotland Women's over 27 team, and David coached, and played for, the men's over 30's team. The W27 team had a very successful tournament, finishing second in the pool behind England, having beaten France for the first time at a European Championships. The final proved to be a game too far, being beaten by England, but meaning Scotland still achieved their highest ever finish at the European championships.
