Inverurie Bowling Club Travel Grant

The club received a £100 grant to attend the National Finals in Ayr. The clubs Father & Daughter Mixed Pairs were runners up to a mixed pairs of father & Daughter from Stonehaven. Our Gents & ladies Junior Singles were knocked out in the 1/4 finals. Gents Singles & Ladies Pairs were also knocked in the 1/4 finals. The club are extremely proud of the achievement of our Bowlers.

The sports council committee meet again on the 22nd August at Meldrum Academy 7-9pm.
£250 Travel Grant for Banchory Schools Orienteering Team

Banchory Schools Orienteering Team participated at the World Schools Orienteering Championships in Palermo, Italy.The picture above is of the Banchory athletes in Palermo at the opening ceremony. In total, there were 27 athletes in the Scotland contingent in 2017 and 4 coaches, so the 9 athletes from Banchory Academy made up a third of the party, and Roger Coombs accompanied them as coach.

Robyn Young Squash Grant

Next month Robyn Young has trials down in Glasgow and Manchester for the Commonwealth Games and world games doubles selection, the grant will be used to put towards expenses for travel and accommodation for this. It will also contribute towards coaching in the upcoming months before the selection events for the Scottish team selection.
