Sportscotland Coaching, Officiating and Volunteering (COV) Awards 2018

- open for nominations We are now inviting nominations for the sportscotland COV Awards 2018. The sportscotland COV Awards provide an opportunity to recognise the fantastic people who work day-in and day-out to deliver a world class sporting system for everyone in Scotland. The awards are a chance to publicly celebrate coaches, officials and volunteers involved in sport in Scotland. There are 13 categories in this year’s awards: Coaching • Young coach (25 years or under) • Young person’s coach • Community coach • Performance development coach • High performance coach • Disability coach • Coach developer • Coaching chain • Lifetime achievement in coaching Officiating • Technical official Volunteering • Volunteer of the year • Young volunteer of the year • Lifetime achievement in volunteering You can find out more about last year’s winners here. Athlete Development Programme Recruitment

We are looking for a qualified Strength and Conditioning coach to deliver one session a week to athletes on the Athlete Development Programme (ADP). The ADP provides support to talented athletes in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire to help them progress in their sport. The coach should ideally have the UKSCA accreditation, or working towards it. As a minimum we would require the coach to have a level 1 UKCC weightlifting award. The session will take place in Aberdeenshire, around Inverurie/Insch area. Delivery time will be one hour per week. Talented Performer Grant For Carmen

Talented young golfer Carmen Griffiths has been awarded a £200 sports council grant. Carmen has recently been selected to represent Scotland at the European Teams Championships in Sweden in early July and also won the Aberdeenshire Ladies County Golf Championship. The sports council committee and office bearers wish Carmen continued success in the prestigious golf events to come.
