Carla Banks Rising Star Award Winner

Winner Rising Star Award Carla Banks (Inverurie) – Indoor Bowls Carla has had an exceptional season with both her indoor and outdoor bowling. Amongst her many successes she won gold at the British Isles U18 series followed by becoming runner up in the World U25 ladies singles. Carla was also part of the Scottish ladies 25 team who won at the British Isles series. Carla has been selected for the Scottish senior ladies team for the first time and will also represent Scotland in the forthcoming British Isles series. To top off her season she has just been selected for the Scotland high performance squad and is 1 of 8 ladies hoping to play at the Commonwealth games next year. *World indoor U25 ladies singles runner up *Scottish indoor U25 ladies singles champion *British Isles indoor U18 fours gold medallist Current level of involvement: International
Eddie Innes Service to Sport award Winner

*Sponsored by SALSC and presented by SALSC National Executive Member Doug Souter Eddie Innes, Inverurie Locos FC – Football Eddie Innes is much more than just another football club manager – He has given FORTY unbroken years’ service to Inverurie Locos and has served in every position at Harlaw Park. During his remarkable tenure, Eddie has been secretary, fundraiser, vice-chairman, committee member, problem fixer, friend, confidant and latterly and currently club chairman. Eddie was also Inverurie Locos’ first Highland league president, a role he fulfilled with no little skill and diplomacy during testing times for the national sport. Eddie is simply ‘Mr Inverurie Locos’ and we would all be delighted if his four excellent decades of volunteering could be acknowledged.
Active Schools Volunteer of the Year Award

*Sponsored by Aberdeenshire Council (Active Schools) and presented by Vincent Docherty Head of Service Education and Children Service. 1st – Fiona Johnman – (Peterhead) Fiona is an invaluable volunteer at our Active Schools hockey sessions, helping out our main coach Fred at 5 sessions (lunchtime, after school and evenings) a week (recently started an additional session in Ellon)! Fiona had never played hockey before but got involved in volunteering in the sport 4 years ago through Fred and her daughter and has now been through her hockey leaders course and is also helping out with junior sessions at Ellon Hockey Club. Working with both Primary and Academy kids on a weekly basis and has clocked up over 144 hours of volunteering in the last year!
