Huntly Shooting Club's Successes

Two members of Huntly Small-bore Rifle Club Jackie and Brogan Smith are this week enjoying a little time out after a string of success at the NSRA Scottish Open meeting held recently at Thirlestane Castle in Lauder. The week long event sees around 200 competitors from all over the UK take part with many of the competitions classed (X, A, B, C, D). The main competitions of the week would be the Championship Aggregate, The Freuchie (an elimination shoot run by the SSRA) and of course The Haig which is the Scottish Open title. The prize giving at the end of the week seen the pair pick up 10 cups. Amongst Brogans winnings he picked up two cups for U18 and overall Junior, both of which he won last year Brogan (15) also picked up the Junior cup for the Haig. Jackie picked up the cup for winning C-class overall in the Championship aggregate against 23 other competitors. Jackie also picked up the winning Sgean dhu in the Freuchie for C/D after making a name for herself by taking out two X-class shooters on her way to the semis and went on to win the Haig Quiach at the end of the week for B,C,D class. Huntly was very well represented with another four shooters winning gold, silver and bronze medals throughout the week.

25th May Funding Workshop Detail

Club Funding Workshop shall be held at the Westburn Park Lounge, Westburn Park, Aberdeen Monday 25th May at 7.00pm prompt. Guest Speakers Andrew Oliver - SME Partnership Development Manager for E.On will chat about the partnership between SALSC and E.On, offering Clubs who are Members of Sports Councils preferential energy rates. He will chat about the Energy Toolkit offered, the energy rates offered and how Clubs can access this with a dedicated phone line etc. Judith Lowes - Fundraising and Voluntary Sector Consultant will lead the Fundraising section of the evening. Judith will cover - What are Funders Looking For, Making Your Case, Where to Research Available Funding and Corporate Support. Club Funding Workshop 25th May 7pm

SALSC Aberdeen Funding Workshop Following the successful Funding Workshop SALSC ran in Inverness last month, at which a member of Aberdeen Sports Council was at they have followed this up asking if we could run the same workshop in Aberdeen for their own and Aberdeenshire Sports Council Clubs in the area. SALSC are delighted to confirm that we are able to run the workshop in Aberdeen, on the 25th May at 7pm in the Westburn Park Lounge Aberdeen. Aberdeen have indicated that they are happy to gather names of attendees themselves on info@aberdeensportscouncil.com if you prefer SALSC can do this for you, using the salscoffice@gmail.com address.
